Year 6 Residential

Every year our Y6 pupils have the opportunity to take part in our residential visit.   The residential generally lasts for 4 nights/3 days and is held at one of the purpose built outdoor centres in the Lake District, either Bendrigg or Calvert Trust.

The visit presents pupils with a wonderful opportunity to develop a range of skills including independence, courage and resilience.   The facilities at both centres are accessible for all pupils, with a range of adapted equipment to allow all pupils to take part in the activities.

During the course of the visit, pupils have the chance to take part in a wide range of activities such as canoeing, caving, abseiling, archery, adventure courses and some quieter activities such as evening campfires or cinema time.

The pupils are fully supported by both Springwood staff and staff from the centre.  We fully recommend that all pupils take part in this experience.

The visit generally takes place during the Summer term, but you will receive information regarding the visit well before this.  There will be opportunity for parents to attend an information meeting so that any questions can be answered.
