Assessment is the integral tool by which progress of pupils is monitored and is used to inform planning and setting of new objectives. Effective teaching and learning can only take place in an environment of continuous assessment. At Springwood assessment is an integral part of all planning and teaching.
All our pupils are unique individuals and as such, our assessment reflects each pupils’ personal, holistic achievements. In order to fully capture the full range of pupil progress, we utilise a wide range of assessment tools. We also fully value joint working with families to support pupil progress.
Opportunities for Parents’ to share their child’s progress occur across the academic year in the form of EHCP reviews, Parents’ weeks, Parents’ Evening and more informal discussion with the class teacher.
